Milestones and a streak of months without a gap, so the habit is visible and the next small win is named

SpreadsheetBank savings pots
Most people are saving for three or four things at once and can name the balance of none of them. A spreadsheet holds the targets but never says whether this month's deposit was enough, never turns a date into a monthly figure, and never tells you which goal a bonus should go to. The pots in a banking app know the balance but only for money in that bank, treat every goal as equal, and have no idea when you will actually get there.
CalculatorAI's Savings Goals Tracker takes the targets and does the arithmetic: what is saved against what is targeted, what each remaining month must carry to land on the date, whether you are ahead or behind, when the goal lands at your real pace, the next milestone and what it takes, and how one paycheck divides across every goal by priority. No bank login, no card, and the export is always free.

What a savings goals tracker has to get right

Progress you can read

A ring and a bar per goal, milestones at 25, 50 and 75 percent, what is already in and what is still to go — in the goal's own currency or converted into yours.

An honest pace

With a date, the tracker works out what each remaining month needs and compares it with your plan: ahead, on track, behind or overdue. Without a date it projects the landing day from what you actually put in.

Split my paycheck

Tell it what arrives each pay cycle and it divides the money across the goals by priority, pro-rated to weekly, fortnightly or monthly pay — the plan is drawn, the deposit is one tap.

Milestones and streaks

The next quarter mark and how much it takes, and the run of months you contributed without a gap — the habit made visible.

A coach that sees the goals

Pro adds a savings coach that reads the real numbers: which goal to feed first, where a bonus should go, whether the date is realistic — and it can add a goal or a contribution from a sentence.

Goals you keep together

Pro adds a shared book: a couple or a family saving for the same things, everybody putting in, one progress bar and every deposit signed.

AI Savings Coach

Ask which goal to feed first — and why

The coach reads the same figures the page shows — every goal's saved, remaining, pace and projected date, this month's deposits, the streak, the paycheck split — and answers with your numbers, not a rule of thumb.

Proactive AI Actions

A1

Fill the add form from a sentence — 'save 3,000 for a trip to Japan by June' — for you to review and save.

A2

Record a contribution by name — 'put 200 into the holiday fund' — with a one-tap confirmation.

A3

Flag a goal past its date, a month with nothing saved, a plan that cannot make the deadline.

I got a $900 bonus. Which goal should it go to?
Put $50 into New laptop first — that closes it this month instead of October. The holiday is the only goal behind plan: it needs $312 a month and gets $250, so $500 there buys back the two missed months and lands it on Feb 19 as planned. The remaining $350 goes to the emergency fund, which is on track and needs nothing urgent.

The coach quotes the page's numbers and never re-derives a total; it does not know interest rates or account balances, and it does not move money.

Where CalculatorAI Wins

  • Progress you can read at a glance: a ring per goal, milestones at 25/50/75, what is in and what is still to go, in any currency
  • An honest pace — what the deadline needs a month against what you actually put in, and the day the goal lands at that pace
  • One paycheck split across every goal by priority, pro-rated to how often you are paid — a plan drawn on the page, a deposit made with one tap
  • Milestones and a streak of months without a gap, so the habit is visible and the next small win is named
  • Three calculators hand a goal over already filled in, and every goal opens the Target Savings calculator with its numbers in place
  • A shared book: a couple or a family saving for the same things, with roles, and your personal goals kept apart

Considerations & Limitations

  • No bank connection — contributions are what you log, not what a statement shows; interest earned is a contribution you add
  • It does not move money — the paycheck split is a plan drawn on the page, and each deposit is one tap you make
  • Projections are linear (remaining ÷ rate); for the compounding version of the question, the goal's calculator button opens the Target Savings calculator
  • A goal is never marked reached by itself — when a deposit brings it to the target the page says so and you confirm, because a rolling emergency fund can be full and still open
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How the pace, the projected date and the paycheck split are worked out — and what the tracker leaves to you.

01How does the tracker decide whether a goal is on track?
With a deadline it computes what each remaining month must carry — remaining ÷ months left — and compares it with your rate: the monthly plan you set, or, without one, the average of the last three months' deposits. At least 10 % above that figure is ahead; within −5 % / +10 % is on track; below that is behind; a deadline that has passed with money still owed is overdue. The thresholds are forgiving on purpose: a plan 3 % short of the exact figure is a rounding, not a failure.
02When will I reach my goal?
The projected date is today plus remaining ÷ rate months, using your monthly plan when you set one and your recent pace otherwise. It moves every time a contribution does. With no plan and nothing put in recently there is no rate to project from, and the tracker says so rather than guessing.
03How does the paycheck split work?
Setup takes what arrives each pay cycle. The overview walks the active goals in priority order; each takes its monthly plan — or what its deadline needs — pro-rated to the cycle, never more than it still needs, until the paycheck runs out. What is left is shown as left over. It is a suggestion drawn on the page; putting the money in is still a tap per goal, and the plan amount is the first chip in the contribution sheet.
04Does the tracker connect to my bank?
No, and on purpose. Contributions are what you log — by hand, from a CSV, or from a calculator hand-off — which is what lets a goal live across several banks, a cash envelope and two currencies at once. If the account paid interest, add it as a contribution.
05Can I save for the same goal with my partner?
Yes — a shared book on Pro. Editors add goals and put money in, an administrator sets the currency and the paycheck, a viewer sees everything and changes nothing, and every deposit shows who made it. Your personal goals stay private and are never mixed into the book.
06What does the free plan include?
Up to three open goals with everything above: progress, pace, milestones, the paycheck split, CSV import and export. Pro removes the limit and adds the savings coach and the shared book. Existing goals never disappear when a plan ends; the limit applies to new ones.
